General Atomics presents GAMBIT 6 CCA for air-to-ground operations
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has recently announced a new platform of its GAMBIT unmanned Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) series, built and enhanced for air-to-ground operations. Identified as GAMBIT 6, it is a loyal wingman/CCA that adds air-to-ground operations to its air-to-air capability.
The new multi-role platform, presented at the Defense IQ International Fighter Conference in Rome this month, is optimized for roles such as electronic warfare, suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD), and deep precision strike, making it a versatile option for evolving defense needs. Built to increase combat mass, through high levels of automation and to reduce reliance on crewed fighters, GAMBIT 6 is being developed to address emerging threats in a denied operational environment.

또 다른 미국 방산 기업인 안두릴의 무인 전투기, 이른바 '퓨리'도 지난 10월 시험 비행을 마쳤습니다.
무인전투기는 조종사가 필요 없다 보니 설계가 단순하고, 무게도 가볍습니다.
그만큼 돈도 적게 들고 제작 기간도 짧습니다.

미 공군은 두 전투기 가운데 최종 기종을 선정해 이르면 내년부터 본격 양산에 들어갑니다.
일단은 기존 전투기의 보조 임무를 맡긴다는 계획이지만, 기술 진화 속도를 보면 완전 새로운 전술이 탄생할 수도 있습니다.

미국에 이어 중국과 러시아도 무인 전투기 개발에 속도를 내면서 경쟁도 한층 가열되고 있습니다.
앞서 미국 항공 산업을 주도하고 있는 일론 머스크 스페이스 X CEO는 "이제 유인 전투기 시대는 끝났다"고 주장했습니다.

“We already know the F-22 will play a critical role in crewed-uncrewed teaming operations, and General Atomics is in a unique position to get this started now,” company spokesman C. Mark Brinkley told Breaking Defense.
DUBAI AIR SHOW — In what General Atomics Aeronautical Systems says is the first known demonstration of its kind for the F-22 Raptor, a pilot flying the stealth fighter successfully controlled an MQ-20 Avenger drone from the jet’s cockpit — a capability the US Air Force expects will be key to its future forces.
The demonstration occurred Oct. 21 at the Nevada Test and Training Range, with F-22 manufacturer Lockheed Martin and defense firm L3Harris teaming up as part of a company-funded demo, MQ-20-maker GA revealed today in a press release. The test flight is one of several planned for internal research and development.

시연은 10월 21일 네바다 테스트 및 훈련장에서 이루어졌으며 F-22 제조업체인 록히드 마틴과 방위 회사인 L3Harris가 회사 자금 지원 시연의 일환으로 팀을 이루었습니다. MQ-20 제조업체인 GA 오늘 보도자료를 통해 공개되었습니다. 이 시험 비행은 내부 연구 개발을 위해 계획된 여러 비행 중 하나입니다.
