Foster + partners reinvents the megayacht with new 'outlier I' concept

Foster + Partners’ longtime engagement with maritime design finds a new expression at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show with the unveiling of the Outlier I megayacht concept. With early vessels like the 68-foot Alen 68 to the landmark Yacht Club de Monaco in Monte Carlo, the British studio has long explored the intersection of architecture and the world of yachts.

Outlier I is a continuation of that pursuit, presenting an 88-meter (289-foot) concept developed in collaboration with Lateral Engineering to show how Foster + Partners’ architectural sensibilities combine with marine technology to imagine a new megayacht.

Outlier I, 모나코 요트 쇼에서 데뷔

포스터 앤 파트너스(Foster + Partners)의 오랜 해양 디자인 참여는 올해 모나코 요트 쇼에서 아웃라이어 I(Outlier I) 메가요트 콘셉트를 선보이며 새로운 모습을 드러냅니다. 68피트(약 20m) 길이의 알렌 68(Alen 68) 호부터 몬테카를로의 랜드마크인 요트 클럽 드 모나코(Yacht Club de Monaco) 까지 , 이 영국 스튜디오는 오랫동안 건축과 요트 세계의 교차점을 탐구해 왔습니다.

Outlier I은 이러한 추구의 연장선으로, Lateral Engineering과 협업하여 개발한 88m(289피트) 규모의 컨셉을 선보이며 Foster + Partners의 건축적 감성과 해양 기술이 어떻게 결합되어 새로운 메가요트를 구상하는지 보여줍니다.

포스터 + 파트너스는 아웃라이어 I 요트 콘셉트의 외관에 균형과 구조에 대한 엄격한 접근 방식을 적용했습니다. 짙은 색 선체를 가로지르는 강렬한 수평 유리 띠와 각진 테라스는 시선을 사로잡는 다층적인 기하학적 구조를 만들어냅니다.

라테럴(Lateral)의 엔지니어들 과 협력하여 건축가들은 엔진실을 선수 쪽으로 앞쪽으로 옮기는 과감한 결정을 내렸습니다. 설계팀은 이러한 조정이 이 정도 규모의 선박에서는 흔치 않은 일이라고 지적했습니다. 이를 통해 중앙과 후미 부분을 기계적 제약에서 해방시키고, 끊김 없는 생활 공간을 확보할 수 있게 되었습니다.

새롭게 구성된 실내는 두 배 높이의 객실과 탁 트인 수직 연결을 위한 웅장한 아트리움을 갖추고 있습니다. 이는 메가요트급에서는 보기 드문 웅장한 공간감을 선사합니다.
