Sydney’s newest venue ‘The Cutaway’ takes shape beneath Barangaroo

Construction on the new Cutaway venue is taking shape beneath Barangaroo with the first of 13 sculptural timber elements having now been installed.

This marks 85% completion of the project and offers a first look at what will soon be Sydney’s newest cultural and event space.

The 13 sculptural timber ‘trees’ form the centrepiece of the design, each standing 16 metres tall and made from up to 150 precision-crafted timber pieces. Beyond their architectural beauty, the structures also enhance the venue’s acoustics through perforated plywood and insulation.

바랑가루 아래에 모습을 드러냈습습니다

바랑가루 아래에 새로운 컷어웨이 장소 건설이 한창이며, 13개의 조각 목재 요소 중 첫 번째가 설치되었습니다.

이로써 프로젝트는 85% 완료되었으며, 곧 시드니의 최신 문화 및 이벤트 공간을 처음으로 선보일 수 있게 되었습니다.

13개의 조각적인 목재 '나무'가 디자인의 중심을 이루며, 각각 높이 16미터에 달하고 최대 150개의 정밀하게 제작된 목재 조각으로 만들어졌습니다. 건축적 아름다움 외에도, 이 구조물들은 천공 합판과 단열재를 통해 공연장의 음향 효과를 향상시킵니다.

'국가와의 연결'이라는 원칙을 바탕으로 재설계된 이번 공간은 원주민 디자이너 섀넌 포스터와 제이크 내쉬와의 긴밀한 협업을 통해 완성되었습니다. 새롭게 단장한 컷어웨이는 기바구냐(바위 은신처)의 곡선 형태를 반영하여 따뜻하면서도 문화적으로 공감할 수 있는 공간을 만들어낼 것입니다.
