Typhoon Ragasa leaves trail of destruction in China

The "king of storms", as Chinese weather experts have called typhoon Ragasa, has forced the evacuation of nearly two million people from the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.

Ragasa ripped through Philippines' remote northern islands on Monday, killing at least one person before barrelling through Taiwan, Hong Kong and southern China.

필리핀 중부에서 규모 6.9의 지진이 발생해 최소 69명이 사망했다고 당국이 밝혔습니다.

​

이번 지진은 현지 시간 오후 10시(그리니치 표준시 오후 1시 50분) 직전에 인구 320만 명이 거주하는 세부 섬 북쪽 끝에서 발생했습니다.

​

구조대원들은 생존자를 찾기 위해 잔해를 뒤지고 있으며, 당국은 구호품을 전달하고 전기와 통신선을 복구하기 위해 노력하고 있습니다.

​

보고, 산 레미지오, 타부엘란, 메데인을 포함한 세부의 도시와 마을 당국은 재난 상태를 선포했습니다. 4개 지역 모두 지진으로 인한 사망자가 보고되었습니다.
